You will join a team that strives for continuous improvement and excellence as a
CDMA RF System Engineer to grow your skills in the Lifecycle and Cost Reduction Wireless RF Access/Data group supporting various and exciting programs. This position involves the RF and Network validation and support of the configuration portfolio for the CMDA product line. You will prime the validation and support of product through Industry Standard compliance and operation across multiple requirements including NPI Design and product issues. You be required to interact with multiple organizations and personnel including NPI, Manufacturing, PLM, TAS and the direct customer.
Responsibilities include:
• Prime and ownership of the IS-97, IS-864 standards to ensure CDMA portfolio compliance on new and DCR BTS products.
• RF system level designs applicable to RF mobility infrastructure and basestations with demonstrated knowledge of impedance matching, noise performance and linearity, as well as cascaded system noise performance and rejection, block and level diagrams.
• Thorough end to end understanding and experience with designing and evaluating LNAs, receivers and transmitters.
• Verifies and validates RF system engineering design performance by establishing reliability and durability test standards; proving-out system design using computer simulation, system link budget; tolerance, and worst-case analysis.
• Test planning, test case creation & system level test plan execution on end to end CDMA voice and data network.
• Issue identification and resolution
• Input into system design through close interactions with design teams
• Interactions with all R&D teams including product line management, customer service, systems engineering and VO
• End-to-End product and performance evaluation
• Ability to develop, understand and validate design documentation
• Interface with manufacturing to ensure optimum system design to support stable and high prodcution yield.
• Evaluate production system test plan and procedure.
Skills/Qualifications:
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years RF system engineering and RF circuit board or power amplifier design experience (700MHz to 2100MHz)
Experience with software/hardware interface design
Experience designing RF chain budgets and impairment analysis
Familiarity with RF test equipment and methodologies
Familiarity with Labview ATE S/W
Experience using Agilent ADS, Ansoft and Matlab simulation tools
Proven technical and interpersonal skills in a multi-function and dynamic team environment
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Innovation
Knowledge of CDMA, EVDO, GSM, UMTS radio theory & operating principles would be an asset
Experience with Cadence Concept and Allegro tools would be an asset
